A Sage Intacct Case Study
Vets Pets is a cooperative of 27 veterinary hospitals in North Carolina that centralizes back-office services for its member clinics. Rapid growth exposed limits in its entry-level QuickBooks setup and Excel-based reporting — accountants had to log in and out of multiple entities, month-end could take up to 23 days, and staff spent excessive time on manual tasks like check signing and data entry, leaving little time for analysis.
Vets Pets implemented Sage Intacct with partner integrations (Dean Dorton, AvidXchange, Nexonia) to automate AP, expense reporting, and financial close. The move cut the monthly close to about 6–7 days, saved roughly 100 hours of manual work per month, reduced AP from 30 to 10 hours weekly, and shrank expense reporting to about an hour a month — delivering faster, clinic-level insights, improved decision-making, scalability, and better team morale.
