A Sage Intacct Case Study
Utility Emergency Services Fund (UESF) is a Philadelphia nonprofit founded in 1983 that provides emergency utility and housing-stabilization assistance to vulnerable families. As the organization expanded beyond utility grants, its paper-based processes and legacy QuickBooks setup made it difficult to track fund-level revenue and expenses and to scale operations during crises like COVID-19.
By moving to Sage Intacct and automating workflows, UESF sped weekly AP by 83%, shortened the monthly close by 33%, reduced non-program overhead by 12%, and cut paper use by 86%. The improved financial visibility and reporting enabled the team to manage 166% contract growth, accelerate payments to clients and landlords, simplify audits, and make data-driven strategic decisions.
