A Sage Intacct Case Study
Samaritan House is San Mateo County’s largest nonprofit, serving up to 7,000 low-income people with food distribution, shelter, healthcare, and case management. Relying on QuickBooks and multiple spreadsheets, the five-person accounting team faced time-consuming reporting, poor visibility for audits and budgets, and limited ability to act as a fiscal agent for partner agencies.
After implementing Sage Intacct (live July 2015), Samaritan House cut payroll processing from 1½ days to three hours and reduced audit prep by eight days as auditors can access data directly. The cloud, paperless system delivered richer budget visibility with dashboards and drill-downs, real-time reporting for partners, 13 reporting dimensions, roughly half an FTE in efficiency gains, and even helped boost event revenue by 40% through better cost analysis.
