Case Study: The Fund for American Studies achieves mission expansion without adding staff with Sage Intacct

A Sage Intacct Case Study

Preview of the The Fund for American Studies Case Study

Sage Intacct pays for itself in efficiencies gained at The Fund for American Studies

The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) is a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit that educates young leaders in freedom and free‑market principles and runs domestic and international programs for over 700 students a year. Facing the end-of-life of Microsoft Dynamics SL, TFAS needed a modern, cloud-based finance system with strong integrations, automation, and reporting to support growth, improve accuracy, and avoid adding finance headcount during expansion or acquisitions.

TFAS migrated to Sage Intacct, taking advantage of built-in integrations (AP automation, Salesforce, expense apps), direct bank feeds, and dimensional reporting for programs and grants. The move shortened the monthly close by 25%, saved hours on report generation, enabled adding an entity without hiring—and even eliminated one finance FTE after an acquisition—while centralizing documentation and freeing the finance team to focus on strategic planning.
