Case Study: Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings cuts month-end close to four days and saves $20,000 annually with Sage Intacct

A Sage Intacct Case Study

Preview of the Stonestreet Case Study

Sage Intacct is strong pedigree for Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holding

Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, founded by Jess Stonestreet Jackson, breeds, trains, and sells thoroughbred yearlings across multiple farms. Its three-person finance team struggled with a slow, hosted Microsoft Dynamics GP system that had a 10,000-account chart of accounts, no consolidated multi-entity reporting, required in-person approvals (and even FedExing checks), and produced a lengthy ten-day month‑end close and wasted travel time and costs.

Working with Dean Dorton, Stonestreet implemented Sage Intacct and Bill.com, creating an integrated cloud workflow for AP/AR and a multi-dimensional general ledger. The change reduced accounts to ~300 with dimensions, delivered real-time dashboards and consolidated reporting, cut month‑end close to four days, saved about $20,000 a year in approval-related costs, improved decision-making at yearling sales, and enabled the small team to cover two maternity leaves without hiring extra staff.
