A Sage Intacct Case Study
Halloran Consulting Group is an 85-person life‑sciences regulatory, quality and clinical consulting firm that grew rapidly but was held back by fragmented systems — QuickBooks, Salesforce and NetSuite OpenAir — which produced unreliable integrations, manual reporting and no unified view of project versus financial performance. The disjointed environment led to long monthly closes, error-prone data and limited visibility into profitability and utilization.
Halloran replaced QuickBooks and OpenAir with Sage Intacct in 2017, kept Salesforce, and implemented Nexonia for time and expenses, creating an integrated, real‑time project accounting system. The move drove measurable gains: project margins rose 12%, billable utilization climbed to 68%, days sales outstanding fell from 120 to 68, monthly close time halved to 10 days, invoicing dropped to as little as two days, write‑offs fell to nearly zero, and about $1M in monthly cash flow was freed — enabling finance to become a strategic partner and support continued growth.
