A Sage Intacct Case Study
The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) is a nonprofit that was created with CDC and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation support to set and apply national public health standards; it has accredited 221 health departments representing about 69% of the U.S. population. As PHAB grew, its pricing, multi-year payment plans, and revenue recognition needs became too complex for QuickBooks, prompting the search for a more capable financial system.
PHAB implemented Sage Intacct for advanced revenue management, dimensional reporting, and executive dashboards, automating invoicing, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and grant tracking while eliminating dozens of spreadsheets. The change supported significant growth (about 40% / $2M), saved 100+ hours per month, shortened the monthly close by 10 days, improved audit readiness and visibility, and avoided roughly $100,000 in annual headcount costs while keeping a lean finance team.
