A Sage Intacct Case Study
Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, the public agency charged with attracting business and managing local economic development in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, faced outdated accounting software (last updated in 2001) and paper-based processes that made managing a $12M operating budget across 11 funds error-prone and time-consuming. After a difficult audit and a brief, inadequate move to QuickBooks, the authority needed a modern, multi-entity financial system that would provide timely, accurate reporting and transparency for its director, board, auditors, and community.
Working with implementation partner Armanino, the authority deployed Sage Intacct to automate multi-entity financials, eliminate paper workflows, and give stakeholders secure, real-time access to dashboards and audit trails. The change delivered an 85% increase in finance efficiency, a 92% faster audit cycle, a fully electronic close process, roughly a day a week back for the one-person finance team, and greater transparency and trust across leadership and the community.
