A Sage Intacct Case Study
Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), a Raleigh-based credit union serving police, fire, parks and recreation and other local entities, needed to replace an aging on-premise finance system. Their prior Sage 50 setup caused performance slowdowns during month-end close, lacked controls (allowing back-posting), required heavy MIS involvement and downtime, and an attempted Oracle ERP Cloud implementation proved costly, time-consuming and consultant-heavy.
LGFCU chose Sage Intacct for its cloud architecture and ease of use; the implementation was smaller and more manageable than Oracle. With role-based permissions, Sage Intacct Collaborate and easy-to-build dashboards (including cash management), they cut the close by 1–2 days, improved security and cross-team communication, reduced IT overhead, and enabled flexible remote work.
