A Sage Intacct Case Study
Life Unlimited is a Liberty, Missouri nonprofit that provides residential living, employment, day and recreation services for people with developmental disabilities. After two mergers expanded the organization to six entities and 60 homes, the $20M charity found QuickBooks Online and Excel unable to handle growing financial complexity: reports were often late or restated, role-based security and fixed-asset tracking were weak, and routine processes were time-consuming and unreliable.
CFO Brian Watson led a move to Sage Intacct (implemented with partner Armanino) and integrated AssetEdge for fixed assets, automating workflows and improving dimensional reporting. The change cut accounting overhead by $100,000 annually, reduced the monthly close from four days to one (75% faster), halved year-end audit effort, tripled the types of reports delivered to leadership, and turned days of manual asset work into minutes—giving executives “rock solid” financial data for better decision-making.
