A Sage Intacct Case Study
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to end drunk and drugged driving, support victims, and prevent underage drinking. Its national finance team was responsible for consolidating financials for 50 states and reporting on roughly 200 grants, but relied on Excel, paper processes, and on‑premises Microsoft Dynamics SL, which produced slow, error-prone reporting and limited anywhere/anytime access. Seeking better reporting and cloud access, MADD selected Sage Intacct as its new financial system of record.
Working with partner JMT Consulting and other integrators, MADD centralized finance on Sage Intacct and connected payroll, budgeting, CRM, expenses, and allocation tools. The move halved the monthly close, cut data-management work from days to minutes, reduced finance overhead by about 2–3 FTEs, and delivered granular grant and program reporting that improved audit outcomes, strengthened stewardship of donor dollars, and enabled more strategic, data-driven decisions.
