EC Hispanic Media, a Los Angeles–based multiplatform company serving U.S. Spanish-speaking audiences with print, online and event promotions across about 48 regional zones and nearly 50 products, was outgrowing QuickBooks. The finance team struggled to track revenues, expenses and profitability by product or region, relied on manual Excel workarounds and paper approvals, and faced long, after-hours month‑end closes and error-prone accrual processes.
The company implemented cloud-based Intacct with partner Armanino, automating procure-to-pay, AP, accruals, time & expense capture and revenue recognition and using dimensional reporting to slice financials by product, region and ad type. As a result, monthly closes dropped from nearly 20 days to 10 or fewer, time to prepare financial statements fell by about one third, visibility across ~50 product lines improved, and EC Hispanic Media saves roughly $100,000 annually by avoiding additional headcount.
