A Sage Intacct Case Study
Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators (DMBA) is a nonprofit third‑party administrator that manages health and retirement benefits for 26 organizations affiliated with the LDS Church. DMBA was constrained by an aging on‑premise accounting system whose chart of accounts had ballooned to about 10,000 accounts across eight entities, requiring extensive manual journal entries and spreadsheet-based reporting that consumed staff time and limited financial visibility and analysis.
After selecting Sage Intacct (implemented with Armanino), DMBA used dimensions to consolidate its chart to roughly 500 accounts, automated journal entries, and integrated SAP Concur—enabling monthly financial statements to be produced in minutes, saving about 20 hours per week on entries and eliminating 8–10 hours per month on expense processing. Dynamic Allocations cut a day from allocation work and shortened the monthly close from seven to five days; dashboards and audit trails now provide real‑time insights and faster audits, freeing finance staff for higher‑value work.
