A Sage Intacct Case Study
Code42, a data-protection provider for global brands experiencing 50% recurring year-over-year growth, faced scaling challenges as its finance team relied on QuickBooks, Excel-based revenue recognition, and manual billing. After a Series A funding round, leadership needed timely, trusted financial reporting for the CFO and investors but lacked the systems and controls to support rapid expansion and multi-entity complexity.
In early 2013 Code42 implemented Sage Intacct, overhauling accounting processes, billing, revenue recognition, and controls, and integrating with Salesforce for automated order entry. The change cut order-to-bill to under one day, shortened the close from 15 to seven days, supported consolidation of twice as many entities, accommodated 100% headcount growth to 524 with the same accounting staff, and delivered trusted reporting and planning capabilities to guide investment decisions and IPO preparation.
