Meridian International Center, a 60-year-old nonprofit diplomacy organization in Washington, D.C., faced growing back-office strain from an outdated Microsoft Dynamics SL system. The pandemic exposed slow, manual accounting and reporting workflows that hindered remote work, grant reporting, and timely financial insights, prompting the need for a modern, cloud-based finance system.

Meridian migrated to Sage Intacct (with integrations like Yooz for AP automation and AssetEdge for fixed assets), redesigned its dimensional chart of accounts, and connected planning via Workday Adaptive Planning. The result: month-end close shortened by about six days, dynamic allocations save roughly 4–5 hours monthly, AP and approval workflows speed processing, budgeting and reporting are more collaborative and timely, and paper-based busy work has been largely eliminated.
