Avenu Insights & Analytics, a provider of revenue‑enhancement and administration software and services for more than 3,000 state and local governments, was formed by a 2017 carve‑out and had just six months to stand up independent business systems after relying on its former owner’s on‑premise accounting platform. The company needed a finance backbone that could be deployed quickly, scale with rapid growth and acquisitions, and integrate with best‑of‑breed applications.

Avenu’s CFO selected and implemented Sage Intacct, enabling rapid integrations and a lean finance operation. In two years the company scaled roughly 3x while keeping a nine‑person accounting team, cut monthly close from 15 to 8 days, halved aged receivables, improved DSO from ~50 days to the high‑30s/low‑40s (accelerating about $2M in cash), and gained margin and pricing visibility via dimensional reporting; further automation and ASC 606‑ready improvements are underway through Contracts, Project Accounting, Salesforce and other integrations.
