A Sage ERP Case Study
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas needed an advanced business system to manage the complex operations of a $50 million nonprofit—multiple funds, campaigns and strict external audits—while keeping administration and IT costs to a minimum. The organization selected Sage and its Sage 500 ERP financial modules (Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cash Management, Customizer, eExecutive) to replace its mainframe with a Windows-based client/server solution.
Sage implemented Sage 500 ERP to manage AP, GL, pledge tracking, online pledging and Internet reporting, plus a reseller-built electronic check-approval workflow. The Sage solution delivered about 40% greater efficiency, large reductions in administrative and IT costs, immediate access to reporting, more reliable maintenance and backups, and eliminated consultant fees for special reports—improving audit confidence and stewardship of donor funds.
