A Sage ERP Case Study
The Resource Center, a nonprofit healthcare agency in upstate New York serving individuals and families with disabilities, faced a cumbersome, time-consuming manual budgeting and cost-allocation process—hundreds of Lotus/Excel spreadsheets for 200+ cost centers, repeated rekeying, and limited ability to do sophisticated analysis and planning. To modernize its finance processes, The Resource Center selected Sage and implemented Sage Budgeting and Planning and Sage Allocations.
Sage delivered an integrated solution using Plan Sheets and tight General Ledger integration to eliminate manual downloads/uploads and reduce rekeying of more than 2,000 line items. As a result, Sage Allocations cut allocation processing from many days a month to about one day, Sage Budgeting and Planning shortened the budget cycle by almost two months, and the organization can now use nonfinancial drivers and monthly adjustments for far more accurate program analysis and reporting.
