A Sage ERP Case Study
Mercy Health Plans, a managed-care arm of the Sisters of Mercy Health System, faced a failing accounting environment: balance sheets wouldn’t balance, transactions didn’t reconcile, system crashes were frequent, and consolidations were done manually in spreadsheets with no reliable audit trail. To replace this unreliable, labor‑intensive system they selected Sage 500 ERP from Sage as their integrated financial platform.
Sage implemented Sage 500 ERP financial modules (GL, AP, AR, allocations, consolidation, reporting, etc.), automating intercompany entries and consolidations and bringing reporting and auditability in‑house. As a result, Mercy Health Plans achieved a tenfold increase in functionality and reliability, cut intercompany processing from about two days to roughly half a day per month (≈75% time savings), eliminated redundant data entry, improved reporting accuracy, and gained a clear audit trail — all delivered by Sage.
