A Sage ERP Case Study
Hoya Vision Care of the Americas, a Lewisville, TX manufacturer and distributor of ophthalmic lenses, confronted an aging legacy system that capped productivity (about 100 invoices per day), relied on Excel for key processes, and lacked a full-featured warehousing solution. After evaluating vendors, Hoya selected Sage and its Sage ERP X3 product to support unlimited transactions, flexible pricing, improved warehousing, and easier user-driven reporting.
Sage implemented Sage ERP X3 (order fulfillment, inventory management, purchasing, advanced warehousing, and data collection) in four months, with Hoya’s team taking ownership of configuration. The deployment doubled Hoya’s customer base, increased inventory by 500,000 pieces, and reduced average piece variance from 12,000–18,000 to about 600 on roughly 2 million items; it also delivered real-time reporting, faster ROI, and extensibility that allowed Hoya to add features internally.
