A Sage ERP Case Study
Blount Fine Foods, a Fall River, Massachusetts food manufacturer, was outgrowing its legacy systems—recipes, formulas and work orders were managed in a limited Microsoft Access database accessible to only a few people. Seeking a scalable, process-manufacturing ERP, the company selected Sage ERP X3 from Sage in 2006 to provide an integrated solution tailored to process manufacturers’ needs.
Sage implemented Sage ERP X3 (including the Automated RF Data Collection module) to deliver real-time production, inventory and financial reporting, shop-floor data capture, and lot-traceability for regulatory compliance. The system gave broad self-service reporting access (now 47 users, 17 more than before), improved yield tracking to reduce waste, sped decision-making, and supported rapid growth—Blount has doubled its revenues since implementing Sage ERP X3.
