Amfit Puts Best Foot Forward With Sage 100 ERP and StarShip

Amfit, Inc., a Vancouver, Washington–based maker of custom orthotic insoles and CAD/CAM manufacturing equipment, struggled with disconnected accounting, inventory, BOM and manual shipping processes that were slow and error-prone. To automate and integrate operations, Amfit turned to Sage, implementing Sage 100 ERP and later adding the StarShip shipping module.

Sage implemented an integrated solution—Sage 100 ERP for financials, manufacturing and distribution plus StarShip for automated shipping—that consolidated orders, multi-level BOMs, inventory and customer records, and allowed user-defined fields and flexible reporting. The combined Sage solution eliminated manual work, reduced shipping-related refunds by providing tracking proof, sped invoicing by creating invoices at shipment, improved inventory management and cut bad-debt exposure through consolidated customer notes and credit checks.
