Setting the Bar for EHS Management in the Natural Gas Industry

Natural Gas Industry, one of the largest natural gas providers in North America, needed to implement an audited enterprise EHS management system across all of its U.S. and Canadian operations. To meet strict local and international standards, the company turned to SafetySkills for a gap analysis of its existing EHS training matrix and support in building a dynamic, data-driven competency tool and custom training content.

SafetySkills audited and indexed the client’s EHS data, built a hazard taxonomy and competency framework, and cross-referenced it against more than 1,200 job descriptions to create a relational system linking hazards, competencies, and verification requirements. SafetySkills also developed dozens of custom courses and an interactive CD format for sites with limited internet access, enabling flexible delivery through the company’s LMS or offline; the result was a scalable EHSMS foundation designed to sustain compliance and improve training consistency across 3,500+ employees.
