Essex Portfolio, L.P., which owns and operates more than 59,000 residential units across 250+ communities, needed training for maintenance staff who might encounter asbestos in older buildings and for responding to mold-related damage in apartment units. To meet OSHA requirements and incorporate site-specific policies, procedures, and local/state regulations, Essex turned to SafetySkills for customized safety training.

SafetySkills developed an augmented asbestos hazard awareness course with Essex-specific information and branding, plus a custom mold response course and a 3D interactive remediation module with realistic job scenarios. The courses were built to work with Essex’s existing LMS, helping deliver relevant, engaging training aligned to company procedures; the case study does not cite a quantified performance result.
