A Safepoint Case Study
Alpha Inclusion & Communication (AlphaIC), a social enterprise supporting neurodivergent individuals, faced a significant safety challenge. Their staff frequently conducted one-to-one sessions in clients' unpredictable home environments, working alone without a reliable method to signal for emergency help. The director, Amy Eleftheriades, was concerned about staff safety but did not want to disrupt positive sessions with intrusive check-in calls. They turned to the vendor, Safepoint, for a solution.
Safepoint implemented its self-managed, app-based lone worker solution. Staff create tasks in the app, which shares their location and status in real-time with managers, who receive SMS alerts if a task overruns. This provided better protection and increased staff safety awareness. The solution significantly lessened staff anxiety, improved wellbeing, and gave AlphaIC the confidence to accept more complex cases, thereby helping more young people in need. The staff, including those not tech-savvy, found the Safepoint system easy to adopt and non-intrusive.
