GENBAND, a global leader in IP infrastructure that expanded significantly after acquiring Nortel’s Carrier IP Switching division in 2010, faced the challenge of onboarding hundreds of employees and stabilizing multinational payroll across some 30 countries. To modernize its global HR and payroll delivery, GENBAND implemented Workday’s HCM and Cloud Connect for Third-Party Payroll and selected Safeguard Global as its outsourced global payroll provider to gain visibility and consistency across the expanded workforce.

Safeguard Global delivered a pre-built, integrated payroll solution with Workday that automated data flows (new hires, terminations, master-data changes, earnings and deductions), eliminated double-keying, and provided vendor-hosted payroll services and global visibility. As a result, Safeguard Global now manages payroll for roughly 1,000 GENBAND employees across 30 countries, supporting GENBAND’s expanded 2,500-person organization with improved accuracy, faster implementation and more consistent multinational payroll processes.
