EOM Limited, a property maintenance provider in Mid Wales and the borders, wanted to reduce the time, mileage, and carbon involved in manually testing emergency lighting for its customers. It partnered with Safecility to explore a retrofit LoRaWAN-based emergency lighting testing solution that could work with existing light fittings.

Safecility implemented automated emergency lighting monitoring and testing, giving EOM remote test capability, automatic compliance records, and a full historical audit trail. The system also provided real-time fault and health data so electricians could fix issues first time, helping EOM eliminate unnecessary site visits and improve first-time fixes, while opening up new IoT opportunities such as Legionella monitoring, smart smoke alarms, air quality sensing, and solar panel monitoring.
