Safecility worked with an EV Charger Installer that needed to assess whether a site had enough spare electrical capacity to add EV chargers and determine if load balancing would be required. To do this, the installer used Safecility’s Vutility HotDrop energy monitor and software platform to measure the site’s baseline energy usage before any chargers were installed.

Safecility’s wireless monitor was clamped over the incoming feed and left in place for seven days, streaming minute-by-minute usage data to the cloud so the installer could review maximum, minimum, and average demand in a clear graphical format. This gave the customer the spare-capacity insight needed to calculate how many chargers could be installed safely and whether load balancing was necessary, helping avoid overload and improve installation planning.
