WhiteStar Corporation provides critical geographic data layers to the energy industry from a large GIS repository and needed a way to deliver those datasets on-demand via subscription while maintaining strict accuracy and usage controls. The challenge was to let clients easily request specific areas and formats, confirm subscription status, and receive either a price quote or the dataset without manual intervention.

Using FME Desktop to build extraction and transformation workflows and FME Server to publish them, WhiteStar created a web interface where customers choose an area of interest, select layers and output format, and have requests validated and processed automatically. The solution enabled usage monitoring, flexible subscription offerings, and broad output support (including ArcGIS Online, Esri formats, and geological/geophysical platforms), producing a seamless, accurate data library that helps exploration professionals make confident, cost‑effective decisions.
