Sterling Geo needed to rapidly prototype and deliver up to 100 earth observation applications in one year for public sector and government clients, but had tight timelines, limited budgets, and no developers. With support from Safe Software and FME, the company aimed to create a pragmatic, sustainable way to use satellite data from sources like Landsat and Sentinel without major IT changes or capital investment.

Safe Software helped Sterling Geo deploy FME in the cloud on AWS, enabling no-code prototyping and easy scaling during demonstrations. The solution powered apps for vegetation health monitoring, satellite imagery notifications, and fire-service planning, with results including work across 150+ government agencies and about 20 apps built so far. Prototyping was fast and low-cost, servers were only paid for during demos, and several apps moved into production.
