Safe Software worked with the State of Indiana to solve a large-scale GIS integration challenge: bringing disparate spatial data from 92 counties into a single, accessible repository and online portal to support statewide initiatives and emergency response. Counties used different GIS systems and could not be expected to change their workflows or budgets, so the state needed a non-disruptive, scalable integration approach.

Using FME Server, Safe Software ingested OGC WFS streams from 80+ counties, transformed and homogenized the data into a central Esri ArcSDE repository, and published it through the IndianaMap online GIS portal. The result: faster, lower-cost data consolidation with no added burden on counties, and ready access to authoritative GIS data for planning and emergency operations across the state.
