Nottingham City Council needed a better way to manage growing demand for planning data while dealing with capacity and resourcing pressures. To improve reporting, data maintenance, and access to information, the council worked with Safe Software and its FME platform, alongside 1Spatial and IDOX, to automate integration between core planning systems.

Safe Software implemented an FME-based automated workflow that connects to the Oracle database behind IDOX Uniform Enterprise, gathers and combines data from multiple sources, and produces scheduled quarterly reports through FME Flow. The solution reduced data maintenance burden, improved efficiency and data quality, increased transparency, and made planning information easier to publish and share with internal and external stakeholders.
