A Safe Software Case Study
The Community Mapping Network needed to produce a 1:50,000 watershed atlas for the Yukon to support a Fisheries Information Summary System (FISS). They had previously created a similar atlas for British Columbia through years of manual work and sought a faster, more efficient approach for the Yukon.
By using pre-built tools in FME Desktop to automate validation and error correction of provincial and federal base data, they produced the Yukon atlas quickly and cost-effectively. The resulting hydrological network is now available online, and trained, authorized local users can populate fisheries data to maintain an ongoing FISS for the region.
