The City of Surrey needed to speed up its water meter permit process for developers, which had been slowed by manual workflows, complex integrations, and overnight data syncing across systems. Using Safe Software’s FME, the city aimed to replace those delays with real-time API-based updates and smoother communication between its permitting and asset management applications.

Safe Software implemented application integration to connect AMANDA, Cityworks, and Esri so data could move automatically between teams and systems. As a result, the City of Surrey can now show meter status before installation, coordinate work more efficiently, and mark meters as in-service immediately instead of waiting weeks or even a month.
