The City and County of San Francisco needed to expand and speed up automated publishing to its SF OpenData portal so more datasets could be added and updated more timely. With growing demand across departments, the Department of Technology sought a scalable way to ingest and qualify data without increasing manual publishing work.

Using FME Desktop and FME Server, the team built new ETL workspaces that consume data from additional agencies, provide generalized notifications, automate daily updates to key datasets, and introduce a staging ETL job server for development and qualification. The enhanced ETL Job Platform improved data availability and timeliness on the portal, delivering better service to citizens while freeing staff to focus on higher-value tasks.
