Central Contra Costa Sanitary District - Customer Case Study

Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (CCCSD), which provides wastewater collection and treatment to about 471,000 people in the eastern San Francisco Bay Area, needed to clean up and transform its sanitary sewer GIS into the Esri Local Government Information Model. Years of different systems had produced a tangle of attributes, mini line segments, and n:1 sewer main features, leaving the data model complex and inconsistent.

Using Safe Software’s FME, CCCSD built visual workflows that consolidated pipe features and normalized associated attributes, migrating the data to the new model without losing information. The pre-built tools, flexible connectors, and automation capabilities sped the migration, simplified the sewer network to align with their CMMS and CCTV systems, and made FME an integral, time-saving part of their data transformation process.
