Bohannan Huston, an award‑winning U.S. engineering firm specializing in spatial data and advanced technologies, was hired by Santa Fe County to perform 3D culvert modeling and produce a flowline network. Their challenge was to “cut down” the model surface so accumulation could flow across man‑made features, and to do this across more than 3,000 sites without exhaustive manual review.

Leveraging a decade of experience with FME, Bohannan Huston built a simple workflow to review data in 2D and construct a 3D scene by integrating orthographic imagery, DEM surface data, reference layers, and the hydro model. The workflow produced TIN and 3D model outputs, enabled powerful visualizations from existing data, validated the flowline network, and dramatically reduced the manual effort required for reviews.
