Alabama Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, wanted to use UAVs to reduce inspection costs and improve staff safety for storm evaluations and feeder inspections in hard-to-reach areas. With Safe Software’s FME, the team began identifying inaccessible feeders as drone-friendly corridors and planning 3D flight paths to better understand and manage flight routes.
