Viking River Cruises, the world leader in river cruising, faced rapidly growing passenger demand and needed an air‑booking solution that could scale while improving ticketing accuracy. Viking River Cruises chose Sabre Travel Network (Sabre) for airline reservations, ticketing and quality assurance to handle high booking volumes and automate itinerary and price checks.
Sabre implemented automated ticketing, itinerary/price verification and invoice processing, which Viking called “a turning point” for efficiency and customer service. The automation cut average agent booking work (previously seven minutes per reservation), reduced errors, and let Viking triple its air passengers while only doubling staff—freeing agents to focus on service and enabling scalable growth using Sabre.
