FuelCell Energy, a Danbury-based leader in ultra-clean stationary fuel cell power with more than 500 employees worldwide, faced growing pains as it expanded rapidly and became increasingly dispersed. Its manual performance appraisal process—based on Word documents and spreadsheets stored in shared folders—created security and confidentiality risks, heavy administrative burden, low employee engagement, inconsistent ratings and little differentiation in performance results.
FuelCell implemented Halogen TalentSpace™ on-premise, keeping familiar forms and processes while adding security, training and centralized performance standards; the system was live within 45 days. The global rollout improved data integrity, rating quality, employee engagement and performance accountability, and set the stage for adding Halogen 360 Multirater™ and Succession™ to identify high potentials and strengthen talent planning.
