Virgin Money, a UK retail bank with 3,200 employees, needed to replace a decade-old talent management system that could no longer support its goals for learning, performance management, regulatory compliance and the “everyone better off” (EBO) behaviours such as collaboration and empathy. The legacy platform lacked flexibility, reporting and the ability to drive day‑to‑day goals, making it difficult to track compliance and develop soft skills across the business.
The bank implemented Saba Cloud to deliver mobile eLearning and integrated performance management, rolling out regulatory modules first and using reminders, robust reporting and raw data feeds to meet FCA requirements. Social and talent features — peer recognition, CV-style profiles, coaching/mentoring, to‑do lists and Pulse surveys — improved visibility of behaviours, identified high performers, increased talent mobility and delivered a stronger colleague experience that supports Virgin Money’s digital ambitions.
