Umniah builds talent management strategy from the ground up

Umniah is a fast-growing Jordanian mobile and internet operator founded in 2005 that now employs nearly 600 full-time and about 200 part-time staff. As the company expanded, its cobbled-together in‑house performance appraisal system could not keep up—departments were missing targets, engagement was low in key teams, and Umniah needed a cost-conscious, flexible talent management approach to improve performance and support growth.

Umniah implemented Halogen Performance and Halogen Multirater to introduce cloud-based goal alignment, 360° feedback, flexible appraisal cycles and centralized employee histories. The system streamlined reviews, helped identify and replace low performers, tightened hiring filters, improved managers’ appraisal skills, and supported better promotion and development decisions across locations—contributing to a stronger, more competitive organization and sustained growth (over 3 million customers and ~31.5% market share by 2014).
