A Saba Case Study
Allina Hospitals & Clinics is a large not‑for‑profit health system serving communities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin with 11 hospitals, 90+ clinics and tens of thousands of staff, clinicians and external learners. Faced with the need to standardize training, ensure regulatory compliance, support a major electronic medical records rollout, and foster cross‑site collaboration, Allina needed a scalable, cost‑effective way to manage and track both formal and informal learning across a widely dispersed workforce.
Allina adopted Saba’s cloud‑based learning platform to deliver instructor‑led and web‑based training, automate compliance reporting, and host social “communities of practice.” The solution supported more than 39,000 classes during the EMR rollout, enabled 100+ communities for sharing best practices, extended training to 4,000 external users, and delivered substantial savings (about $250,000 per all‑employee course moved online) along with faster implementation and a low total cost of ownership.
