A Saba Case Study
Christiana Care Health System, a large nonprofit health system in Wilmington, DE, needed a structured, confidential peer-review process that reinforced its core values, supported professional development, and met Magnet® and ANCC requirements. The challenge was to create a staff-driven, scalable approach that documented participation, complied with the ANA Code of Ethics and Magnet regulations, and minimized administrative burden across a large nursing workforce.
Christiana Care built a nurse-led peer-review program within its existing Halogen Software talent management system, using Halogen 360 Multirater and piloting questions with direct-care nurses. The automated process (each nurse selects four evaluators and managers add two anonymous reviewers) enabled easy tracking, reporting and adjustments, and today 2,590 nurses participate; the program has improved accreditation documentation, delivered actionable feedback for coaching and development, and strengthened shared governance and compliance.
