Northern Health is a publicly funded healthcare organization in northern British Columbia serving more than 300,000 people across a half‑million‑square‑mile area. Formed by merging 40 independent facilities, the new organization had over 7,000 employees and needed an efficient, accurate organizational structure and HR data to enable central governance while preserving local operating autonomy.
Northern Health selected Saba’s Planning@Work (HumanConcepts) and linked it to its NOW Solutions emPath HR system to create dynamic organizational charts and a self‑service employee directory. The integration quickly exposed and allowed correction of HR data errors, gave HR and ~300 managers secure editing access, automated structural updates, and improved communication and contactability via Outlook — and laid the groundwork for workforce modeling, salary rollups, and ongoing planning.
