A Saba Case Study
Fairbanks Hospital, the oldest independent alcohol and drug treatment center in the U.S. and a not‑for‑profit based in Indianapolis, faced a tight talent market for specialized clinical and support staff while being held to the same regulatory standards as larger health systems. The organization struggled with paper‑based performance appraisals, lost or inaccessible reviews, inefficient Joint Commission reporting, and pressure to control costs and improve recruitment and retention.
Fairbanks implemented Halogen TalentSpace—including Halogen Performance and the 360 Multirater—along with organization‑wide training and goal cascading tied to strategic plans. The system eliminated paper, streamlined onboarding and appraisal workflows, allowed HR to run processes without heavy IT support, and made reporting to The Joint Commission easy. Results included clearer expectations, improved morale, reduced turnover, easier recruitment, time and cost savings, and plans to expand into learning, succession and compensation modules.
