Kaiser Permanente honors commitment to high-quality, affordable health care with Saba

Kaiser Permanente, one of America’s largest integrated health care organizations serving 8.2 million members with roughly 136,000 staff and 11,000 physicians, faced a major learning challenge: regional autonomy had produced many independent training programs and isolated systems, leading to inconsistent content, costly duplication, limited visibility and elevated compliance risk as the organization prepared for large-scale initiatives like KP HealthConnect.

Kaiser implemented Saba’s Learning WELL (January 2003), a unified learning management system delivering both web-based and instructor-led courses, integrated employee records, role-based pre-enrollment and national WBT curricula for regional rollout. The platform consolidated catalogs, migrated 600,000 legacy transactions, managed over 400,000 learning transactions, improved JCAHO compliance, reduced redundant training and employee time away from work, and enabled more efficient, standardized curriculum development and deployment.
