BJC HealthCare, a nonprofit system of 15 hospitals in the St. Louis area with 33,000 employees across roles from food service to neuroscience research, needed a scalable way to onboard and engage staff in a true 24/7 environment. The challenge was delivering consistent, timely onboarding and ongoing learning across many locations, job types, and schedules while improving new-hire retention and manager support.
BJC implemented Saba Cloud and launched its GPS (Guiding People to Success) program, using a manager-facing connection template and an online community to plug new hires into resources, career pathways, and customized training. The platform now supports onboarding, compliance, professional and leadership development, and academic partnerships—streamlining onboarding, increasing engagement and retention, and linking learning to performance to advance BJC’s mission.
