Case Study: Five Guys achieves consistent, scalable training for 21,000 employees with Saba Learning

A Saba Case Study

Preview of the Five Guys Case Study

Five Guys relies on Saba Learning as key ingredient in its recipe for success

Five Guys, the fast‑casual burger chain, faced a major training challenge as it grew from a handful of locations to over 800 stores and 21,000 employees: how to maintain consistent food quality, safety and customer service across rapid expansion when DVDs and printed materials quickly became outdated. The company needed a scalable way to deliver uniform, up‑to‑date training to both company and franchise staff.

Five Guys implemented Saba’s cloud-based learning management system to deliver eight core online courses (food preparation, food safety, company history and service) alongside hands-on kitchen training, with full franchise access and district-level incentives. The rollout enabled fast, low‑cost deployment and robust tracking; curriculum completion sits at about 86%, turnover is below industry averages, and stores show improved consistency on third‑party audits and secret‑shopper evaluations.
