The client, one of the largest international mobile device service companies, sought to achieve significant cost savings and increase compliance within its business vehicle program. Prior to working with Runzheimer, its reimbursement model had few controls for insurance or mileage accuracy, raising concerns about fairness. Runzheimer was engaged to provide a more equitable and controlled solution.

Runzheimer implemented a dual solution: a Fixed & Variable Rate (FAVR) program for high-mileage drivers and a revamped Cents-per-Mile program for low-mileage drivers. The vendor also deployed its Equo mileage capture app to streamline tracking and reduce audit exposure. This new program delivered outstanding results for the client, including $3 million in annual savings, a 98% non-taxable reimbursement rate, and 86% insurance compliance.
